How to Spot a GitLab Breach Before It’s Too Late #gitlab #cybersecurity #tutorial

· Watch on YouTube

Last week, we covered GitLab’s critical security vulnerability. The fixes were released, but there’s another part of the story.

GitLab has published indicators that administrators can use to investigate possible exploitation attempts, including unusual worker crashes and application errors. Now, here’s why that’s important. A security update changes what an attacker can do going forward, but it doesn’t tell you what happened before the update was installed.

And GitLab isn’t just another application. It can hold source code, deployment credentials and access to production systems.

So the next stage isn’t another reminder to install a patch. It’s understanding whether anything suspicious happened while the system was exposed.

Because a successful security response needs more than a fixed vulnerability. It needs evidence that the systems behind it can be trusted.
